Isseı Sagawa
THE HUMAN EATER
Issei Sagawa (72) is a Japanese human eater
(Cannibal). Actually, he is more than that. He is a cannibal, murderer, and
necrophile (sexually likes corpses). He is majorly known for killing a woman
called Renée Hartevelt. The interesting thing is he was actually arrested but
he was released after 2 pre-trial detentions. The reason for that was he is
legally crazy. After that, he was sent to Japan and lived a normal life. (If
you can say normal to playing in p*rn videos and being interviewed). He even
played in a documentary for him called "Caniba".
Back to Renée, when Sagawa was 32, he invited
his classmate Renée (25), to do their assignment and have dinner. He had an
inferiority complex because he thought of himself as ugly, weak, and small (he
was relatively small to the others because of the health issues, 144.8 cm). He
selected her because of her health and beauty (which are the characteristics
that he didn't have). He wanted to absorb her energy by eating her. When she
came to his house, she started to read poems with her back facing Sagawa. He
shot her in the neck with a rifle. After killing her he fainted because of the
shock, but he had a plan to continue.

He had slept with her corpse and tried to eat
her raw but his teeth weren't sharp enough. Because of that, he went to buy a
butcher knife. After he cut her, he started to eat most of her breasts and
face. Some parts were eaten cooked, some parts were raw. He placed the
remaining parts in the refrigerator. He also took photos of her eaten body.
After eating her he tried to get rid of the remaining corpse by throwing her in
two suitcases but he was caught by the French Police 4 days later.

Sagawa's father was a wealthy businessman who
was the president of Kurita Water Industries. He provided a lawyer for his
son's defense. After 2 years of awaiting trial, he was found legally insane and
he was hospitalized in a mental intuition. There, an author named Inuhiko
Yomota visited him. And he published his manga about the killings in the name
of "In the Fog". After that, French authorities sent him to a
hospital in Japan. His examinations declared that he was sane and his sole
motivation for the murders was sexual. But in Japan charges against him have
dropped. And on 12 August 1986, he checked himself out of the hospital and
remained a free man ever since.
